RN Diploma Program Nursing Instructor
Term: 10 Months

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required;
Master's Degree in Nursing preferred. - Must be licensed in Missouri, have two years of full-time experience within the last five years, and five years clinical nursing experience within the last 10 years.
- Must qualify for career education teacher certification.
- The ideal instructor needs to be an effective communicator that can effectively assist adults in the learning process.
Requirements:
- Final approval must be obtained from the Missouri Board of Nursing before the position is assigned.
- Must obtain MO/DESE teaching certification within the first two (2) years of employment.

- Read and interpret documents such as work orders, safety rules, and handbooks and apply to job duties
Summary
The RN Diploma Nursing Instructor must demonstrate the following:
- Deliver theory and skills training through direct teaching and demonstration of skills
- Provide experience in safety and maintenance issues in the medical workplace
- Teach the course curriculum as outlined by FTC and DESE
- Build knowledge and develop medical skills
- Maintain accurate records on all students, including but not limited to, attendance records, schedules and course requirements regarding hours of instruction and content
- Evaluate and document students' progress through testing, observation, and assessment of skills attained
- Communicate effectively with students and all affiliated with the course
- Responsible for providing direct instruction to students and maintaining an environment conducive to learning
- Provide an environment that encourages student participation, interpersonal skills development, and medical-based concepts

- Act as a positive nursing role model to students and peers.
