The Fall Guard/ Flags Coordinator helps instruct students in performance techniques, choreography, equipment skills, and competition preparation while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and student growth.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Instruction and Program Support
- Assist with planning and conducting winter guard rehearsals and practices.
- Provide instruction in dance, movement, choreography, and equipment techniques, including flags, rifles, and sabres.
- Support the development of student performance skills, confidence, and leadership.
- Help prepare students for performances, exhibitions, and competitions.
- Reinforce established expectations for attendance, conduct, and commitment.
- Assist in supervising students during practices, performances, competitions, camps, and travel.
- Promote a safe and inclusive environment for all participants.
- Serve as a positive role model and mentor for students.
- Maintain professional boundaries and follow all district policies regarding student interactions.
- Assist with equipment inventory, maintenance, and organization.
- Help with setup and tear down of practice and performance spaces.
- Support fundraising activities and program events as assigned.
- Assist with costume distribution, fitting, and management.
- Work collaboratively with the Assistant Coach, Band Director, school administration, and booster organizations.
- Communicate effectively with students and families regarding schedules, expectations, and program needs.
- Attend required meetings, rehearsals, performances, and competitions.
- Evening and weekend rehearsals, performances, and competitions are required.
- Extended periods of standing, walking, demonstrating techniques, and lifting equipment may be necessary.
- Travel with students to competitions and events may be required.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
