This contract role is designed for someone with expertise in American Sign Language (ASL) who is passionate about supporting students access to classroom instruction and participating in all aspects of school life.

• Proficient in American Sign Language (ASL)
• Certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter (as required by state or national standards)
• Experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally at the middle school level
• Professionalism, confidentiality, and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to accurately and impartially interpret spoken English to ASL and vice versa in real time

• Interpret lesson content, classroom discussions, instructions, and school activities between students, teachers, and staff
• Foster positive communication and engagement to help students fully participate in both academic and extracurricular activities
• Collaborate with educators and other support staff to prepare for classroom lessons and special assignments
• Follow guidelines and ethical standards for educational interpreters, maintaining confidentiality and impartiality at all times
• Support an inclusive learning environment, responding flexibly to changing schedules or assignments as needed

• Serve a middle school student (or students) who requires ASL interpretation services
• Full-time schedule, Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM 3:50 PM
• Position begins as soon as possible and continues through the end of the school year
