Position: Adjunct Assistant Professor - Primary Care (DO/MD)

Position

The Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor will be assigned teaching, scholarly activity, service, and clinical practice responsibilities as a part-time faculty member in the College of Osteopathic Medicine. They will report to the Chair of the Department of Primary Care and assist in developing and delivering curricula to integrate medical specialties in team-based learning environments, including physical exam and clinical teaching.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Continuously prepare and teach course material throughout the four-year DO curriculum, including classroom assignments, teaching physical exam, osteopathic manipulative medicine laboratories, simulation events, and remote web-based education.
  • Teach medical simulations including standardized patients, manikin-based simulation, and other clinical education.
  • Actively participate in weekly curriculum sessions along with formative and summative assessment of students.
  • Provide student advisement, remediation assistance, and hold office hours as requested.
  • Participate in admissions activities.
  • Collaborate with a variety of faculty and staff across all colleges within the University.
  • Understand accreditation standards and adhere to policies and procedures to meet or exceed departmental expectations.
Additional Duties and Responsibilities
  • Support student research and scholarly activity.
  • Participate in continued professional development.
  • Serve on COM or University service committees as requested.
  • Provide clinical practice and oversight of medical students in settings such as health fairs, immunization clinics, community clinics, and other events.
  • Participate in commencement and White Coat ceremonies.
