Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor
The Adjunct Assistant/Associate Professor may be assigned teaching, scholarly activity, and service responsibilities as a part-time faculty member in the COM. They will report to the Chair of the Department of Basic Sciences and participate and assist the Department Chair and colleagues in the development and delivery of pharmacology curricula in large and small group learning environments.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, deliver and evaluate instructional content and practical sessions for assigned courses by utilizing traditional and interactive teaching methods
- Actively participates in curriculum delivery along with formative and summative assessment of students
- Provides student advisement, remediation assistance, and may be requested to hold office hours
- Collaboration with variety of faculty and staff across all colleges within the University
- Participate in KCU meetings, as requested
- Understands accreditation standards and expectations specific to the department and adheres to policies and procedures to meet or exceed such standards
Other Duties and Responsibilities may include:
- Supports student research/scholarly activity
- Participates in continued professional development
- Participation in COM or University service as requested
- Participates in Commencement and White Coat ceremonies
Qualifications:
- PharmD/PhD in pharmacology or closely related fields
- Previous or continuing practice as clinical pharmacist, and/or teaching experience at the professional level
- Candidates should have effective organization, communication, verbal, and written skills, as well as proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite of software programs and online Learning Management Systems
- Experience as a course director, team teaching, and mentoring students in research is preferred
