Engineering Technician
:
Provide engineering support to meet current and future manufacturing requirements. Develop and generate manufacturing work instructions and procedures. Design and develop tooling, fixtures and other manufacturing aids. Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members. Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.

Job Description- Develop and generate manufacturing work instructions and procedures
- Provide engineering support to meet current and future manufacturing requirements.
- Design and develop tooling, fixtures and other manufacturing aids.
- Adhere to General Requirements of Team Members.
- Responsible for the proper handling and management of hazardous waste generated in their work area.
- Perform other assignments as required.
- Duties involve a broad spectrum of electronic and mechanical calibrations.
- Requires use of numerous electronic test equipment and mechanical gauging, reading precise measurements of electronic and dimensional data to the closest tolerance exercising a thorough knowledge of and ability to use such a wide variety of precision instruments.
- Determine technical accuracy, operation, and proper sequencing of test procedures.
- Perform failure analysis to component level using schematics and various types of test equipment, document findings and make recommendations for corrective actions.
- Tests involve understanding of electronic theory and interpretation of results.
- Perform a variety of tasks to ensure production quality standards are met.
- Construct test set-ups, interfaces to Unit Under Test (UUT), test fixtures, and other test aids.
- Perform lower level test duties as necessary.
- Make recommendations for procedural changes as needed.
Skills & Qualifications
- Intermediate knowledge of email, Word, Excel, Access, and CAD.
- People skills – high customer service drive, positive attitude, team player, problem solver
- Analytical abilities – reason, plan, solve problems, establish priorities
- Good verbal and written communication skills to interact with people at all levels both inside and outside of Ducommun Inc.
- Abilities listed in General Requirements of Team Members
- Prior experience in reading and applying information from wiring lists, wiring schematics, process sheets and procedures.
- Intermediate to Advanced computer skills; ability to open programs and input data.
- Understanding of electrical safety.
- Ability to learn on the job training skills as it relates to various electronic test equipment.
- Comprehensive understanding of electronic theory and ability to interpret results
- Ability to work overtime and weekends, as needed.
CAD degree and experience is preferred. Associate’s degree in electronic or mechanical technology preferred. 0-2 years experience in design or manufacturing support. Licenses, Certifications, etc.
Work Environment and Safety Equipment RequiredModerate noise levels. Light manufacturing environment. Occasional overnight travel – extended durations of up to five days.
ITAR/EAR ComplianceThis position requires access to export-controlled information and/or hardware, and candidates must be U.S. Persons that comply with all U.S. Export control laws and regulations. As such, U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent resident status, protected person status under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or the ability to meet ITAR and EAR requirements is required.
