Project Engineers lead and oversee engineering activities in the assigned project, focusing on following timelines, deliverables, and targets. Key responsibilities include managing and communicating project needs and resources, such as staff and budgets, planning with critical paths in mind, and ensuring processes meet standards.
Job Duties- Lead technical project communication – Act as the technical, engineering, and manufacturing leader of our engineering projects.
- Manage project details – oversee technical aspects of projects, as well as their timelines, resources, and budgets.
- Own planning details – participate overall project planning but has ownership the technical planning of projects
- Work to project plans – Implement strategies to improve overall project timing, reduce wasted time, and lower costs, often using project management and lean principles.
- Collaborate cross-functionally – Work with other departments such as quality, purchasing, sales, and operations teams for support on assigned projects.
- Technical leadership – Provide technical expertise in projects in areas such as plant layout, process flow, equipment selection and positioning, and process development.
- Budget and resource management – Develop and manage the project budget and secure necessary resources, including capital investments.
- Ensure compliance – Maintain high standards for safety and quality compliance across all manufacturing operations, in all projects, at all times.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, technical field or equivalent
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience required
- Strong technical leadership experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficiency in working with Quality Management Systems
- Experience leading and working with cross-functional teams
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to successfully manage several tasks or projects at once
- Ability to think 'outside the box' and develop clever, unique solutions to problems
- Ability to adapt to ever changing work requirements, tasks, and environments
