Hyspeco is looking for a skilled and motivated Repair Technician to join our growing hydraulic and fluid power team. This is more than just a repair job- it's an opportunity to work with cutting-edge hydraulic systems, precision machinery, and critical industrial equipment that powers industries across the country.
Responsibilities:Tech 1 Cylinder Technician
- Diagnoses hydraulic cylinders to troubleshoot and determine the cause of failure.
- Measures with calipers, micrometers, and tape measure.
- Dismantles cylinders, maintaining identification of each component part, labeling and/or photographing parts as necessary.
- Advises supervisor of required new or remanufactured parts, if necessary.
- Re-aggregates cleaned, repaired, and/or replacement parts from other work groups and performs re-assembly and final testing per Customer, EASA, OEM, or Horner specifications.
- Documents final testing on applicable forms.
- Return all completed signed documentation, photos, etc. to the shop office.
- Maintain a safe and clean work environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
- Work with minimal supervision to complete tasks on time.
- Operate and/or use related equipment and tools which include forklifts, hoists, slings, grinders, cutting torches, hand tools, drills, punches, etc.
- Maintain level of work performance in accordance with Company Quality Assurance standards and/or job order specifications.
- All other duties as assigned
- Upholds Hyspeco Safety and Personnel Policies.
- Upholds ISO 9001:2015 requirements as defined in Hyspeco's quality procedures/processes.
- Uses gages and measuring instruments to meet tolerance requirements.
- Uses precision tools, machinery, and equipment such as a lathe, vertical milling machine, drill press, hydraulic press, saws, and a variety of cutting tools and equipment.
- Fabricates and shapes parts such as tools and machine parts out of metal.
- Recognizes, deploys, and properly uses inserts and tooling.
Properly and safely selects, aligns, secures, and removes fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials onto machines. - Performs daily and regular cleaning and light maintenance tasks on machinery and equipment.
- Evaluates experimental procedures and recommends changes or modifications for efficiency and adaptability to setup production.
- Knowledge of metals and quality and machinability and uses of metals, alloys, and other materials.
- Perform welding duties.
- Weld various metals as specified by procedures, layouts, blueprints, diagrams, work orders, oral instructions, and with or without the use of weld procedure specifications (WPS).
- Welds range from simple tacks to complex welds, performed in varying positions.
- Work includes set-up, laying out work using fixtures/jigs to fabricate, modify, or repair parts.
- Weld in various angles on many shapes of materials.
- Diagnose hydraulic (fluid power) equipment and component parts to troubleshoot and determine the cause of failure.
- Access available OEM Specifications or related documents for the component or equipment.
- Isolate problem areas of system, equipment or components.
- Verify defective system, equipment, or component part.
- Prepare the system, equipment, or component part for disassembly, including necessary lockout /tag out, isolation, bracing, line bleeding, and depressurization.
- Dismantles equipment, maintaining identification of each component part, labeling and/or photographing parts as necessary.
- Climb up, down, in, and out of mobile equipment being worked on.
- Properly diagnose, repair, and test all fluid power components, power units, and fluid power systems on mobile equipment.
- Install new fluid power systems on mobile equipment.
- Build hydraulic power units from parts and blueprints provided.
- Operate hydraulic test stands to test hydraulic components to OEM specifications.
