ICU Step-Down Unit (TCU)

The Transitional Care Unit is a 20-bed department consisting of a multidisciplinary team of nurses, nurse technicians, and ancillary staff. TCU serves Freeman and our community through caring for patients that are transitioning from ICU to Med-Surge level of care. We serve a vast range of patient populations, from cardiac complications, respiratory distress, diabetes management, and many more. Our team culture is built on the Freeman Five Star Promise:

What You'll Do

Under the direction/supervision of a nurse, provides basic nursing care needs for assigned patients.

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in RN nursing program and beginning final semester of nursing school
• AHA BLS for healthcare providers within 60 days
• Nonviolent Crisis Intervention Training Program (CPI) within 365 days
• NT competency day annually by transcript due date
