Job Overview
BJC Home Care is looking for a registered nurse to provide direct patient care and manage your own schedule. You will build relationships with patients while delivering high quality home care. BJC Home Care provides care to thousands of patients in over 25 counties across Missouri and Illinois. This role offers a supportive team and strong work‑life balance.
Schedule- 40‑hour work week, shift flexible
- Weekend rotation: generally every 4th weekend
- Paid on‑call nights: 4‑6 per month
- 2 holidays per year
- Service to the BJC Home Care service area
- Cell phone and laptop
- Mileage reimbursement at IRS rate $0.70/mile
- Up to $15,000 bonus

Must be willing to provide coverage in all St. Louis regions during on‑call. Position requires registration with the Family Care Safety Registry.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate patients’ needs and provide specialized nursing procedures and self‑care instructions.
When assigned as case manager, coordinate all aspects of patient care.
Assess patient preferences and barriers to care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population‑specific needs.
Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care with goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and patient or family.
Promote respect, equity, and empathy in interactions with diverse and vulnerable populations.
Practice collaborative problem solving and advocate for patient‑family centered continuity of care.
Implement care by integrating team data and critical thinking in a safe, timely manner.
Evolve care plans as patient condition changes, communicating with families and the interprofessional team via EMR.
Ensure evidence‑based practice for quality patient outcomes.
Maintain safety and alertness due to the safety‑sensitive nature of the position.
Minimum Requirements- Education:
Nursing diploma or associate's degree in nursing. - Supervisor experience:
None. - Valid driver’s license.
- RN licensure.
- Education:
Bachelor’s degree in nursing or home health. - Experience:
2‑5 years.
