Qualifications- Current, active RN license or privilege to practice.
- No current disciplinary action in the state of Missouri on licensee’s RN license.
- No past disciplinary action in the state of Missouri or any other U.S. state or territory.
- Associate Degree in Nursing with clinical component;
Bachelor's preferred. - One (1) year experience in a clinical setting.
- Teaching experience preferred but not necessary.
- Final approval from Missouri Board of Nursing prior to assignment.
- Must obtain MO/DESE teaching certification within first two (2) years of employment.
- Supports the mission of Joplin Schools.
- Supports the value of education.
- Enforce all applicable Board policies and regulations, administrative procedures, and state/federal laws.
- Properly supervise students at all times, if applicable.
- Obey all safety rules, including those protecting safety and welfare of students.
- Care for and protect school property.
- Maintain courteous and professional relationships with students, parents/guardians, other district employees, and the public.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, department staff, all members of the school district, and community as required.

- Teach the course curriculum as outlined by FTC and DESE.
- Supervise students in a clinical setting.
- Build knowledge and develop medical skills.
- Maintain accurate records on all students, including attendance, schedules, and course requirements.
- Evaluate and document students’ progress through testing, observation, and assessment.
- Communicate effectively with students and all associated parties.
- Provide direct instruction and maintain a conducive learning environment.
- Encourage student participation and development of interpersonal skills and medical concepts.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Emphasize workplace readiness skills.
- Remain updated on new information, innovative ideas, and techniques.
- Communicate effectively with adult students.
- Provide student academic counseling as needed.
- Document student competencies.
- Ensure confidentiality of student records.
- Effectively monitor, instruct, and evaluate students in clinical settings.
- Identify and maximize utilization of available learning opportunities.
- Comply with minimum standards established by MO, State of Board Nursing.
- Act as a positive nursing role model.
- Teach a portion of the Nursing program curriculum.
- Collaborate with nursing faculty to develop, implement, and evaluate curriculum.
- Participate in recruitment and retention efforts.
- Participate in the Nursing Advisory Committee.
- Keep abreast of new information, techniques.
- Ensure all activities conform to district, state, or federal guidelines.
- Exhibit dependability and punctuality; maintain consistent attendance.
- Carry out all other duties as assigned.
