Position SummaryThe Staff RN II in the Cardiac Diagnostic Lab provides specialized outpatient nursing care and patient education for individuals undergoing cardiac diagnostic testing. This role performs and monitors stress echocardiograms, nuclear stress tests, and treadmill stress tests; initiates IV access; processes EKGs; and supports patients throughout their care experience.
Working in a collaborative, patient-centered environment, the Staff RN II delivers high-quality, compassionate care while promoting patient safety and positive outcomes. Ideal candidates have at least two years of cardiac, ICU, or emergency nursing experience.
Schedule & Benefits- Monday-Friday, 8-hour day shifts
- No call requirements

Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs and documents assessment of the patient/family (biophysical, psychosocial, developmental, cultural, spiritual and environmental); collects and analyzes data from the medical record in order to coordinate patient care.
- Directs and/or provides patient care, which may include administering medication, performing procedures and monitoring patient status in accordance with approved nursing practice.
- Provides appropriate counsel and education to patients/family regarding disease process and symptom management.
- Maintains medical records requiring appropriate and timely recording of patient information.
- Consults with members of the health care team, adjusting nursing care processes as indicated to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Demonstrates cost-effective work habits by setting priorities and properly managing supplies and equipment.
- Assists the health care provider with examinations, procedures, prescription refills and other processes related to direct patient care.
- Participates in quality improvement activities to ensure appropriate clinical outcome.
- Professional contributions, including presentations, preceptorships/mentorships, committee participation, community service, inclusion on research or professional publications or local, regional or national professional organization leadership roles.
- Performs other duties as outlined in specialty-specific job responsibilities.

Required Qualifications Education- Associate Degree In Nursing Or Diploma In Registered Nursing

Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Completion of National Specialty Certification relevant to the area where working, if applicable.
- Current Missouri RN licensure in accordance with Compact Act.
- Basic Life Support certification (Online BLS certifications, those without a skills assessment component, are not sufficient to meet the BLS requirements).
- Advanced clinical skills (e.g., PALS, ACLS, IV Certification, Bone Marrow Biopsy).
- RN experience, patient education skills, and familiarity with cardiac diagnostic procedures.
- 3+ years of cardiac or critical care
- Bachelor's degree
