The Calibration Technician is responsible for ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of measuring and test equipment used throughout the manufacturing facility. This position performs calibration, verification, maintenance, documentation, and inventory control of precision measuring instruments to support production, quality assurance, and customer requirements. The Calibration Technician helps ensure compliance with ISO 9001, AS9100, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Perform scheduled calibrations and verifications of measurement and test equipment according to established procedures and calibration schedules.

Maintain an accurate calibration database, including equipment status, calibration intervals, certificates, and historical records.

Ensure measuring equipment is properly identified with calibration labels.

Coordinate external calibration services.

Review calibration certificates for compliance.

Troubleshoot and perform minor repairs when appropriate.

Remove out-of-tolerance equipment from service and assist investigations.

Maintain NIST traceability as required.

Support audits with calibration records.

Develop/update calibration procedures.

Train employees on proper equipment use.

Maintain organized calibration lab.

Participate in continuous improvement.

Follow safety policies.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Specialized aerospace test equipment

Qualifications

Associate degree preferred or equivalent experience.
2–5 years calibration/metrology experience preferred.

Aerospace/defense/electronics manufacturing experience preferred.

ISO 9001/AS9100 experience preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Understanding of calibration principles.

Knowledge of precision measuring instruments.

Familiarity with ANSI/NCSL Z540 or ISO 17025 preferred.

Ability to read engineering drawings.

Strong math, organization, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and calibration software.

Physical Requirements Stand, walk, bend, reach frequently.

Lift up to 40 lbs occasionally.

Good vision for fine inspection.

Repetitive hand movements.

Working Conditions Climate-controlled manufacturing/lab.

Manufacturing noise.

PPE required.

Occasional overtime.
