Job Description
Personal assistant wanted to support with building confidence, access community, developing routine
around hobbies and building towards employment.
Initially I would like support for one 3 hour block a week while we get to know each other and then consider increasing.
I have a few hobbies which I would like support to access including motivation and prompting.
I am keen to eventually return to work so support around routine and confidence is important to me.
I have previously struggled with care being impersonal so want to develop a strong rapport.
I want to build on my independence I currently have support from my parents but would like to work on my daily living skills for example cooking.
We are looking for a PA who ideally has similar interests, this would be helpful but is not required.
Having an understanding around Autism and how this looks for me.
I would like the person to be proactive and supportive - taking time to get to know me and my personality.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesThe support is required for 3 hours a week.
We are looking for a PA who will have some understanding around autism, as it would be helpful for the employee to understand me.
The support will be both at home and some in community I would like this to be flexible and agreed between us.
Support in the home will include support to help improving cooking, completing paperwork and accessing hobbies. I would like support to develop my independent living skills.
At times I would like to go out into the community to build on my confidence.
It would help if you are a driver.
My parents do a lot for me so I would like support to develop my independent living skills.
The role requires a driver, as this would be helpful when accessing the community as I struggle with public transport.
About MeI am a 32 year male who is diagnosed with Autism and I have previously struggled with mental health.
I enjoy computer gaming and I have a degree in computer science.
At the minute I am socially isolated and want to build up my confidence and begin getting out more, I would like support to be person centred and be able to develop a good rapport with my support worker.
