Job Summary

Sunbelt Rentals is seeking a Mechanic to perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on a variety of equipment, including aerial work platforms, general construction tools, and specialty lines such as power generators, pumps, HVAC, and oil/gas equipment.

The mechanic will work in a safety‑focused environment, using advanced hydraulic and electrical troubleshooting skills. You may need to provide your own mechanic’s tools and must be flexible with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment. Bilingual capabilities (Spanish or other) may be required based on location.

Physical demands include bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 pounds or more, and working indoors or outdoors as required.

• High school diploma or GED; some trade school or equivalent training desired.
• Experience with diesel equipment, heavy equipment, or specialty lines such as generators, pumps, HVAC, or oil & gas equipment, strongly preferred.
• Advanced knowledge of hydraulic systems and troubleshooting skills.
• Advanced knowledge of electrical systems and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to be flexible with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
• Bilingual (Spanish or other) may be required based on location.

Related experience may include roles such as Shop Mechanic, Mechanic, Technician, Service Foreman, Service Manager, Shop Manager, Mechanic Supervisor, Diesel Technician, Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Hydraulic Technician, ASE Certified Mechanic, or IFPS Certified Technician. Base pay range: $20.89 – $28.72 per hour, varying by position, location, education, training, and experience.
