BASIC FUNCTION/PURPOSE The Kindergarten Aide supports the classroom teacher in creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment for young learners. This position assists with academic instruction, classroom management, supervision, and care routines to ensure each child's social, emotional, and academic development.

Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES Assist the classroom teacher in implementing daily lessons, activities, and centers in all Kindergarten curriculum areas. Work with individuals or small groups of students to reinforce instruction or practice skills. Support students in developing independence, social skills, and positive behavior. Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, cafeteria, playground, and during arrival/dismissal. Prepare instructional materials, organize classroom supplies, and maintain learning centers.
Assist with assessment and documentation of student progress as directed by the teacher. Support students with self-help needs (e.g., putting on coats, tying shoes, toileting assistance if required). Promote and maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment. Communicate professionally and positively with students, staff, and families. Participate in staff meetings and professional learning/development as assigned. Accompany children on educational trips outside the classroom with teacher.
Supervise classroom activity when the teacher is out of the room. Supervising various activities (as assigned by teacher). Perform other duties as determined by teacher or building principal.
Term of Employment: 9 month school year position
Salary Range:
Pay will range from $16.38 to $18.27 per hour.
Evaluation Frequency:
Job performance will be evaluated a minimum of 1 time per year.
