Identity & Operations Specialist
The job of Identity & Operations Specialist is done for the purpose of administering staff and student accounts; managing account lifecycle processes; administering Class Link, single sign-on (SSO), curricular rostering, and related identity services; coordinating technology purchasing, software licensing, and vendor renewals; supporting technology operational processes; and maintaining procedures and documentation that support district technology services. This job reports to the Technology Manager.
EssentialFunctions
- Identity & Rostering Administration
- Creates, modifies, and maintains staff and student accounts within assigned technology systems.
- Administers Class Link, single sign-on (SSO), and identity management services.
- Maintains user permissions, access settings, organizational structures, and security groups within assigned systems.
- Monitors account provisioning, synchronization, and deprovisioning processes.
- Coordinates employee onboarding, transfers, and offboarding activities with Human Resources and other district departments.
- Supports curricular rostering processes and resolves routine roster synchronization issues.
- Reviews synchronization reports and coordinates corrective actions with Human Resources, Student Information Systems, Curriculum, and other district departments.
- Coordinates with vendors regarding authentication, identity management, and roster integration issues.
- Escalates advanced automation, integration, or development issues to appropriate Technology Services staff.
- Purchasing, Licensing & Vendor Administration
- Creates purchase orders for approved technology purchases.
- Tracks technology purchases through district purchasing and approval processes.
- Receives technology shipments and verifies delivered items against purchase orders and packing documentation.
- Processes receiving records and maintains purchasing documentation.
- Maintains software subscriptions, licensing records, support agreements, and renewal schedules.
- Coordinates with vendors regarding orders, licensing, renewals, support requests, and service issues.
- Technology Operations Coordination
- Develops and maintains procedures, process guides, and support documentation related to account management, identity services, purchasing, licensing, and assigned operational processes.
- Communicates technology procedures, timelines, and operational requirements to district staff.
- Coordinates operational activities between Technology Services, district departments, vendors, and service providers.
- Supports implementation of district technology projects through planning, testing, deployment, and follow-up activities.
- Maintains documentation and records supporting assigned operational processes.
- Technology Deployment & Inventory Support
- Assists with device deployment, collection, replacement, and recovery projects.
- Supports inventory audits and asset verification activities.
- Coordinates with the Asset & Inventory Operations Specialist regarding newly received equipment and deployment readiness.
- Maintains records related to technology purchases, warranties, and assigned assets.
Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.

Skills, Knowledge and AbilitiesSkills are required to perform multiple technical and administrative tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills to meet changing technology and operational requirements. Specific skill-based competencies required to satisfactorily perform the functions of the job include: administering technology systems; managing user accounts and permissions; processing purchase orders and receiving documentation; maintaining software licensing records; coordinating with vendors and district staff;
documenting procedures and processes; organizing information and records; and utilizing technology management, identity management, and productivity software.
