Production Associate 2nd Shift

Join Smithfield Foods as a General Production team member and help deliver safe, high‑quality food by performing essential production tasks and supporting your coworkers.

General Production employees will work with hand tools, knives, machinery and other equipment to process meat products for the consumer. Positions are physically demanding and require good hand‑eye coordination and attention to detail. Production team members must be able to work their scheduled shift and may be required to work overtime depending on production demands.

• Stand on concrete or platforms for up to a 12‑hour shift
• Work in cold (20–40°F) or hot (over 100°F) areas, and wet, humid conditions
• Wear protective gear including hard hat, hearing/eye protection and steel‑toed shoes
• Work in a noisy environment using PPE
• Work around animal blood and carcass parts, use knives (if trained), and sanitation chemicals
• Climb steps, ladders, stairways, and walkways; bend, stoop, and twist repetitively
• Walk long distances; may require carrying or lifting objects up to 60lbs, or using mechanical assistance

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and be willing and able to:

• Understand and follow oral and written instructions
• Perform tasks requiring continuous or repetitive movement, e.g., grasping, pinching, flexing, and extending arms
• Move around a noisy, wet, and humid environment while wearing required PPE
