Material Coordinator HAZMAT, Fort Riley, KS

Technica is seeking to hire a Material Coordinator, Hazmat, to support operations at Fort Riley. Responsibilities include providing ASP operation services for AE stock control, inventory, requisition, stock accounting, receiving, shipment and warehouseing tasks. This includes packaging, blocking, bracing, policing and securing magazines, fire prevention, fire mitigation, routine maintenance of real property and demilitarization of selected ammunition residue, components and inert and dummy ammunition.

Inspection services for all assigned ASP locations, ammunition transfer and holding points and load storage areas are also required, including visual (physical) inspections, damage in transit (DIT), receipt inspections (RI) and periodic inspections (PI). Assistance in AE logistics, safety functions, tests, readiness inspections and quality control activities under the technical guidance of QASAS or designee is necessary. Documentation for Government QASAS approval, input data, recommend ammunition classification, reclassification (as applicable), verify conditions of AE, use Munitions History Program (MHP) and perform other duties as required to support mission requirements.

Reviews issue/draw, turn-in schedules and confers with department supervisors and Military Liaison to determine material required or overdue and to locate material, requisition material and establish delivery sequences to departments according to job order priorities and forecasted availability of ammunition. Arrangements for magazine transfer of materials to meet utilization schedules, and with department supervisors for issue or turn-in. Compilation of reports of quantity and type of ammunition on hand, preparation for move or transport material from one location to another, using hand or industrial truck.

May compile perpetual production records in order to locate ammunition in process of issuing, using manual or computerized system, and maintains stock records. This position involves working both indoors and outdoors. Work environment includes periodic overtime, exposure to heat, dust, cold, and inclement weather conditions. Duties, responsibilities, and activities may change at any time with or without notice.

Qualifications include three years of logistics experience in U.S. Army logistics or transportation procedures, good verbal and written communication skills, ability to pass Pre-Employment Drug Test and Background Screening, High School Diploma / GED, ability to receive a favorable TIER-1 Investigation result and obtain and maintain a CAC. Physical requirements include the ability to lift 60 pounds, pushing, pulling, carrying, stooping, bending, squatting, and reaching.

Desired qualifications include ammunition experience, keeping accurate record of storage stock, preparing stock for customer utilization as well as repackaging upon return, working as a member of a high Optempo team, team player, and ability to learn/operate a 6K forklift, hand truck, ½ ton pickup truck. Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks related to the position.
