Production Operator

Junction City, KS 66441 $ 17.00 per hour 2nd Shift | Monday
- Friday | 2:30 PM - 1:00 AM Contract Position | July 20, 2026 - October 19, 2026

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable Production Operator to join a manufacturing team supporting daily production operations in a fast-paced industrial environment. This role is responsible for operating production equipment, maintaining product quality, recording production data, and ensuring a safe and efficient manufacturing process.

The ideal candidate has manufacturing experience, strong mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to quality, safety, and teamwork.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operations:

  • Operate production equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Set up and adjust production equipment, including coaters, winding, finishing equipment, and related machinery.
  • Thread and splice production materials as required.
  • Inspect and prepare products to ensure they meet quality specifications.
  • Build boxes and package finished products.
  • Monitor production equipment to maintain efficiency and product quality.
  • Record production activity and raw material usage manually and electronically.
  • Use computer systems to enter production data accurately.
  • Keep production tools, equipment, and supplies organized and readily available.

Equipment & Facility Support:

  • Clean machinery, printers, production equipment, and work areas.
  • Perform routine housekeeping and preventive cleaning throughout the production area.
  • Identify and label hazardous waste for proper disposal.
  • Recommend process improvements to increase efficiency and product quality.
  • Perform additional production duties as assigned.

Safety & Quality:

  • Follow all safety procedures, checklists, and company policies.
  • Read and follow SOPs, labels, and production instructions.
  • Participate in quality, safety, lean manufacturing, and waste reduction initiatives.
  • Maintain Environmental Management System (EMS) standards and environmental best practices.
  • Support ongoing training and continuous improvement activities.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous manufacturing or production experience preferred.
  • Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to operate manufacturing equipment and basic computer systems.
  • Experience entering production information into computer software.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Willingness to learn and participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
Physical Requirements

This position requires the ability to:

  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Perform repetitive production tasks.
  • Safely operate manufacturing equipment.
  • Lift, carry, and move production materials as needed.
  • Work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Schedule
  • 2nd Shift
  • Monday
    - Friday
  • 2:30 PM - 1:00 AM
  • Full-Time (40 hours per week)
  • Overtime may be required based on production needs.
