Mental Health Registered Nurse – Oregon State Hospital, Junction City Campus
Location and EmploymentJunction City, Oregon (ZIP 29398). Permanent, full‑time, 100% onsite employee position.
SummaryThe Oregon State Hospital, a division of the Oregon Health Authority, is hiring Mental Health Registered Nurses to provide nursing care to residents in a forensic psychiatric facility. The role involves administering medications, developing nursing care plans, conducting assessments, responding to emergent psychiatric situations, supervising staff, and maintaining a therapeutic and secure milieu.
Responsibilities- Provide nursing care to individuals residing in the facility.
- Administer medications as ordered by the provider.
- Develop nursing plans of care and complete assessments.
- Respond to emergent psychiatric situations that may be dangerous.
- Monitor staff work assignments and supervise staff to provide therapeutic, safe, and secure milieu.
- Valid, unencumbered Oregon Professional Registered Nurse license throughout employment.
- Pass pre‑employment drug test.
- Pass background checks: abuse check, criminal records check, and driving records check.
- Experience working in mental health.
- Experience in conflict and crisis management.
- Strong leadership skills.
- Experience in milieu management.
- Ability to manage multiple job responsibilities simultaneously.
- Employment offer contingent on successful background checks and drug screening.
- Swing: 12:30p.m.–10:30p.m.

Varied. - Shift incentives and educational incentives:
Bachelor’s degree +4.75% base rate;
Master’s degree +9.5% base rate;
Doctorate degree +12% base rate; additional incentives for weekends, evenings, nights and specialty differentials for continuing education.
