Position: 2026 Accounts Payable Clerk (AP - RSC)

Job Description

The Accounts Payable (AP) Associate supports both the Red Salmon and Pederson Point plants, and is responsible for processing vendor invoices, as well as responding to and researching vendor accounts payable inquiries. Additional related tasks consist of, entering purchase orders, employee and fisherman sales receipts, compiling and reconciling end of month vendor statements, and assisting with end of season fisherman statements/ accounting.

This is a seasonal position working approximately May – Mid August in our Naknek office and Mid-August
- September 30th in our Edmonds office. While in Edmonds we will provide housing and meal stipend. Due to the seasonal nature of our industry, the Accounts Payable Associate works approximately 12 hours per day, seven days per week during peak production seasons approximately. This position is hourly and reports to the Plant Manager and Office Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews invoices and categorizes expenses.
  • Prepares invoices to be processed in the AP system.
  • Sorts payables for payment.
  • Researches and communicates vendor inquires.
  • Files and maintains accounting documents (invoices, checks, ACH remits etc.)
  • Assist in month end vendor statement reconciliation.
  • Assist with fisherman accounting.
  • Answering office phone
  • Answering in-office questions from fisherman and visitors etc.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • 18+ years old
  • Authorized to work in the U.S.
  • Basic understanding of Accounts Payable (we can train).
  • Must have excellent attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
  • Ability to effectively communicate via email (outlook).
  • Self-motivated and quality focused.
  • Ability to compute basic math.
  • Ability to work 12 hours per day, seven days per week, with additional hours during peak seasons.
  • Ability to work well independently and with others.
  • Ability to maintain professional composure in high stress work environment.
  • Willingness to work in an office setting in a seafood processing plant.
  • Consistent and reliable attendance is an essential function of this position
  • Seafood production experience preferred

Room and Board NPSI provides transportation from your nearest international airport to the worksite and back, as well as room and board, for those employees who work until they are laid off. Employees who leave before the season ends may be responsible for their own transportation, and they will be charged $15 per day for room and board.

Important Considerations Most cell phones do not work in remote areas of Alaska. GCI cell phones are the most reliable in Naknek. T-Mobile and Verizon work. We have limited WiFi connection.

Payroll Information Pay periods are biweekly. Our workday is defined as the calendar day, and our work week runs from Monday through Sunday. Employees are paid on the Friday following the end of the biweekly pay period. We encourage employees to sign up for direct deposit, but you may elect to receive paper checks instead.
