Accounting Technician Juneau; PCN

Accounting Technician 3 – Division of Department Support Services, Department of Family and Community Services, State of Alaska

This position is open to Alaska Residents Only and is located in Juneau, Alaska.

Provide financial support to the Department through researching, reviewing, and processing Reimbursable Service Agreement (RSA) and accounts payable documents. Process encumbrance requests, department cash receipts deposits, and journal entries. Perform tasks independently, prioritize work assignments, and serve as the main contact for RSA.

• Minimum 2 years of technical level accounting or bookkeeping experience, with at least 1 year at the full‑proficiency level.
• Knowledge of general ledger accounting, control/subsidiary account relationships, reconciliation techniques, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and disbursing officer accountability.
• Analytical thinking, problem‑solving, and logical, systematic approach to work.
• Attention to detail and thoroughness in work.
• Strong oral and written communication skills to convey technical information effectively.
• Self‑management: sets realistic goals, demonstrates initiative, works with minimal supervision.
• Educational requirements:
  
  Post‑secondary education from an accredited college with at least 6 semester hours in Accounting, or an associate’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration meeting the stated credits.
