Pay Range: $27.81 - $38.62. This role focuses on consortium-wide accounting and reporting for Southeast Alaska Regional Health Consortium (SEARHC) and its subsidiaries, providing general support to financial audits, accounting operations, and projects as assigned.
Key Responsibilities- Collaborate with the finance team and corporate departments (Compliance, Information Systems, Legal) to ensure effective communication of financial activities.
- Control expenses while maintaining quality standards.
- Maintain the integrity of key financial reporting systems, including fixed asset management.
- Support the integration of new business units and implement new technologies within financial operations.
- Partner with stakeholders to continuously improve end‑user experience in accounting processes, including grants and fixed assets.
- Assist with the annual external audit, compiling schedules for fixed assets, grant expenditures, and other analyses.
- Prepare monthly financial reports accurately and on time.
- Handle general accounting reporting, encompassing grant accounting, fixed asset accounting, and patient revenue recognition.
- Support all annual audits, including the financial statement audit.
- Collaborate with the Accounting Manager to establish policies, procedures, and internal controls.
- Develop and lead the fixed asset tracking process to ensure proper accounting procedures, cost tracking, performance, and reporting.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement within the finance function.
- Participate in month‑end financial activities, including patient and grant revenue accounting and subsidiary reconciliations.
- Communicate responsibilities to align with SEARHC’s mission, vision, and objectives.
- Build external relationships with auditors, reimbursement consultants, bank representatives, investment advisors, and other financial partners.
- Influence budget creation, financial policy, reporting, and regulatory interpretation across the consortium.
- Engage with SEARHC Boards of Directors and organizational leaders.
- Contribute to strategic and tactical projects as directed by the Director/Controller.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree required; concentration in Accounting, Finance, or Economics preferred.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare or accounting setting, preferably with tribal and non‑profit clients.
- Proficiency in general fixed asset accounting and financial reporting, including grant reporting and financial analysis.
- Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Strong collaboration skills, ethical standards, sound judgment, and professional integrity.
- Ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships across all functions and levels.
- Flexibility to influence others, anticipate needs, and provide supportive guidance.
- Excellent oral and written communication, including concise and logical presentations.
- Capacity to identify trends requiring attention and act with urgency.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
