We are hiring a Cost Accountant for a hybrid position (three days on site, two days remotely). Under general supervision, the successful candidate will assist in maintaining general ledger accounts, conduct other accounting activities, record assets, liabilities, and other financial transactions, balance books periodically, and prepare profit and loss, income, and balance sheet statements. Responsibilities also include maintaining receipts and disbursement reports, planning, conducting, and participating in basic analysis of cost assignments, and preparing management reports that measure performance against key objectives and strategies.
Responsibilities- Assist in preparing monthly financial information using applicable support systems.
- Prepare journal entries, code invoices/vouchers, reconcile the balance sheet, and analyze variances.
- Maintain fixed asset and depreciation records.
- Review and reconcile receivables and recommend accruals.
- Perform basic analyses of cost records to determine cost distribution across divisions.
- Classify labor, material, and overhead costs to compute unit costs of products or services.
- Analyze actual costs versus standard costs and prepare variance reports.
- Compile cost data for operating budget preparation.
- Prepare other reports and assist with special projects and analysis as requested by supervisor.
- Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree in a discipline related to accounting or a functional role.
- Demonstrated problem‑solving skills with the ability to apply proven solutions.
- Consistent delivery of prescribed outcomes in a timely and accurate manner with guidance.
- Application of existing processes and procedures to solve problems, with guidance for non‑routine issues.
- Proficiency with general functional computer knowledge, including Microsoft Windows, Mac, or other relevant tools.
- Ability to quickly learn specialized software as required.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective communication with diverse groups of people.
- Competitive salary range: $51,800 to $85,300 per year (may vary by location, education, experience, performance, and shift).
