The Department of Military and Veterans Affairs (DMVA), Division of Administrative Services, is recruiting for an Accountant 4. The primary responsibilities for this team member will include compliance with all federal and state laws, regulations, and requirements for the reporting, accounting, billing, and collection of State of Alaska contracts/Reimbursable Services Agreement (RSA), department-wide grant, federal, and administrative revenues. In addition, this team member provides technical guidance and supervision to professional-level accountants and accounting technicians.

The Accountant 4 provides financial management of DMVA revenue accounting and the associated federal and state reporting for all DMVA divisions of between 10-16 Federal Cooperative Agreement Programs (dependent on level of mutually negotiated annual agreements and funding), and between 10-25 multi-year grants for combined federal revenue earnings of more than $20 million annually.

This position is open to Alaska Residents only. Please check our Definition FAQ to determine if you qualify.

The DMVA impacts the lives of most Alaskans through our mission to respond to state disasters and emergencies, serve and support Alaska veterans, educate at-risk teens in disciplined and structured environments, and work alongside the National Guard in the execution of global, theater, and state operations. The Administrative Services team is supportive, friendly, and fosters a culture of servant-leadership, accountability, and excellence. As the Accountant 4, you will be part of the division leadership team and serve as the revenue and structure subject matter expert for the department. This position directly supervises accountants and accounting technicians and leads by example, modeling the behaviors and cultures that DMVA believes in.
