Job Overview
The Fairbanks Trial Court of the Alaska Court System is seeking highly motivated and detail‑oriented professionals to serve as Criminal Division Court Case Managers. These positions offer a unique opportunity to perform a wide range of duties on a rotational basis, all of which are essential to ensuring the efficient operation of the court.
Key Responsibilities- Manage criminal case files from initiation through disposition, including reviewing filings for compliance with statutes and court rules.
- Prepare cases for arraignments and hearings, process bail, monitor warrants, and complete accurate data entry in Court View.
- Process judgments, route sensitive documents, and coordinate closely with justice partners.
- Provide exemplary customer service as primary points of contact for court patrons, attorneys, and partner agencies.
- Assist customers at the public counter and by phone, review and accept filings, respond to inquiries within established guidelines, and manage individual cash drawers in compliance with accounting procedures.
- Facilitate public access to court records.
- Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of office clerical experience.
- Substitution options: additional office clerical experience can substitute for education; completion of 36 semester credit hours or 48 quarter credit hours of accredited college coursework can substitute for the required office clerical experience; vocational training in legal secretary, paralegal, or office skills can substitute for the work experience on a month‑for‑month basis.
- Post‑secondary transcripts, if using education to meet minimum qualifications.
- A list of at least three (3) professional references with supervisory authority, including daytime contact phone numbers and email addresses.
- Copies of your most recent (2) performance evaluations, if available.
Full‑time court employees are scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch break.
