The Criminal / Traffic Division of the Anchorage Trial Court is seeking a detail-oriented individual to help fulfill the mission of the Alaska Court System as a Court Case Manager 2 (salary range 12). This position requires a high level of attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Personnel rules will be applied to determine step placement for the successful internal candidate.
CRIMINAL/ TRAFFIC
In this role, you will provide accurate and concise information to the public regarding policies and procedures, assist and direct customers to the proper location for hearings and other agencies, process all actions filed with the Traffic/Minor Offense Division in a timely manner (Requests, Motions, Notices, etc.), maintain a cashier drawer and payments daily as needed. Verify and compile payments in Court View, closing cash drawer daily.
You will also accept charging documents for filing and scan for compliance and accuracy; you'll set up electronic case files, and calendar cases for trials and arraignments. You will be responsible for processing criminal and traffic case files, you will issue warrants, summons, orders to show cause, process orders for psychiatric reports, and recall warrants. You will close case files and disperse documents.
This position processes out-of-town cases for proceedings in Anchorage and coordinates future court dates with the court of origin. Additionally, you will interview defendants during non-custody arraignments and may travel to and from jails to conduct interviews of in‑custody defendants who request court appointed counsel, complete financial statements given by defendant, and make a recommendation to the judge regarding appointment or denial of counsel.
hours will you work?
Full‑time court employees are currently scheduled to work 37.5 hours per week. The work hours for this position are Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. with a one‑hour lunch break.
After training this position may be required to work weekends and/or holidays on occasion.

Minimum Qualifications- Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND one year of advanced clerical work experience equivalent to a Court Case Manager 1 with the Alaska Court System or an equivalent position with another employer.
- Graduation from high school or completion of a General Education Development (GED) certificate AND completion of a two‑year paralegal curriculum from an accredited institution.
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited college.
- Post‑secondary transcripts, if using education to meet minimum qualifications.
- A list of at least three (3) professional references, who have had supervisory authority over you along with their daytime contact phone numbers and email addresses.
- Copies of your most recent (2) performance evaluations, if available.
