Responsibilities- Provide administrative support for the Southeast region of the Division of Commercial Fisheries.
- Process bi‑weekly payroll, Personnel Action Requests, payroll reconciliation, and data entry.
- Maintain staff information using computer software, including word processing and spreadsheets; learn state and department proprietary systems.
- Interpret and apply policies, procedures, bargaining contracts, rules, and instructions.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing with staff and other stakeholders.
- Organize projects, manage email, and track tasks. Demonstrate thoroughness, high effort, and commitment.
- Adapt work by gathering relevant information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands and competing priorities in a changing environment.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One year of experience with clerical tasks such as greeting clients, answering phones, typing, filing, sorting mail, entering data, receiving payments, making change, and maintaining logs.
- Education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience (1 month of experience per 3 semester hours).
- Regular driver’s license and age 18+ if the position requires operating motor vehicles.
- Typing skill may be required for some positions.
- Ability to use computer programs and state proprietary systems.
General office hours 8:00 am to 4:30 pm (flexible around core business hours). 37.5-hour work week, 13 paid holidays, and personal leave accrual.
