Administrative Assistant 2 – Juneau, Alaska

The Administrative Assistant 2 supports day‑to‑day administrative operations within the headquarters unit in Juneau, providing assistance to staff in both Juneau and Anchorage. Responsibilities include personnel, payroll, recruitment, procurement activities and adapting internal processes to meet division needs. The role requires rapid adaptation to shifting priorities, managing constant interruptions, and collaborating with colleagues across the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Perform personnel, payroll, recruitment and procurement administrative tasks.
- Adapt internal processes and procedures to meet changing policy requirements.
- Manage multiple priorities and work interruptions while maintaining high quality standards.
- Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Six months of entry‑level technical experience in administrative functional areas such as human resources, accounting, administration, or procurement, or one year of advanced‑level clerical experience.
- One year of post‑secondary education (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours).
- Or one year of any combination of post‑secondary education, vocational education, and/or advanced‑level clerical experience.
- Proficiency in computer software for accounting documentation, spreadsheet creation and maintenance, and tracking budgetary and financial information.
- Strong understanding of policies and procedures, administrative and accounting requirements.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to establish cooperative working relationships.
- Excellent organizational skills, including project, email, and tracker management.
- Strong critical thinking and ability to adjust planned work based on new information and changing priorities.
