What You Will Be Doing
This position serves as an Administrative Officer for the Division of Administrative Services within the Department of Administration. Responsibilities include supporting a wide range of administrative operations such as budgeting, accounting, payroll, procurement, travel coordination, and human resources activities. The role works closely with division leadership and staff across the department to coordinate projects, improve processes, and ensure compliance with state policies and procedures.
- Assist with budget development and tracking.
- Process and review financial transactions.
- Coordinate recruitments and personnel actions.
- Support procurement and travel activities.
- Maintain organizational and operational records.
- Progressively assume more complex and independent responsibilities.

Working Environment You Can ExpectThe position is located in downtown Juneau at the State Office Building and is set in a professional office environment. Daily work involves a combination of independent assignments and coordination with leadership and other divisions.

- Financial Management – prepare, justify, and administer the budget for program areas; plan, administer, and monitor expenditures for cost‑effective support of programs and policies; assess financial condition of an organization.
- Oral and Written Communication – express information effectively to individuals or groups; make clear and convincing oral and written presentations; listen to others and respond appropriately.
- Administration and Management – knowledge of planning, coordination, and execution of business functions, resource allocation, and production.
