Long Term Non-Permanent Payroll Technician/Timekeeper (Human Resource Technician
2) with the Department of Transportation and Public Facilities (DOT & PF) Statewide Administrative Services. This position supports the AMHS payroll team as the vessel timekeeper and provides backup to payroll technicians.
- Under general supervision of the payroll supervisor, create all timesheets for vessel employees.
- Research previous rotation records to configure hours on timesheets.
- Review and approve vacation timesheets for vessel employees.
- Create vacation or make‑whole timesheets when none are received.
- Ensure all timesheets comply with union contracts, policies, procedures and regulatory documents.
- Prepare timesheets at the direction of HR/AMHS Payroll.
- Research the status of missing timesheets and contact supervisors or employees to obtain them.
- Submit completed timesheets to AMHS Payroll for processing.
- Perform backup duties for AMHS payroll technicians as needed.

- Six months of entry‑level human resource work experience equivalent to a Human Resource Technician 1, or one of the specified substitutions (advanced clerical experience, post‑secondary education, or education equivalency).
- Graduation from high school or equivalent with one year of advanced clerical experience, or one year of post‑secondary education (32 semester hours or 48 quarter hours).
- High‑school graduation equivalency must meet one of the detailed qualifications (GED, adult education, work experience, etc.).
