Position SummaryProvides advanced clerical support at a school site or in a district office. This is the experienced clerical position that provides a variety of support activities. Work is less closely supervised, or permits more latitude and judgment than the Office Assistant I. There is greater emphasis on rapid accurate data entry. At a school site this is the position that assists with enrollment and maintains attendance records, assists with lunch supervision.
Minimum QualificationsAny combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of the requisite knowledge, skills and abilities. A typical way to obtain these would be:
- High School diploma
- Two years prior clerical experience.
- Student records and attendance keeping.
- Academic and facilities scheduling.
- Complex record keeping and report preparation.
- Modern office equipment including personal computers and related software.
- Procedures specific to the school site or district office.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Perform rapid, accurate, complex data entry.
- Maintain complex academic and/or facility schedules.
- Communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
- Operate a personal computer and related software.
- Maintain effective working relationships with other people.
- Type approximately 40 wpm.
This is a full-time 9-month position, working 37.5 hours per week, with a starting salary of $25.34 per hour. We offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS) plan, and paid time off. This position is represented by the Juneau Education Support Staff (JESS) bargaining agreement.
Selected hire will be fingerprinted at applicant's expense and fingerprints forwarded to the Alaska State Troopers and the FBI for a records check.
