Description

Juneau Pools is seeking a qualified individual to hire as an Administrative Assistant to join our team.

Responsibilities
  • Assist the Aquatics Manager and Pool Supervisors with administrative functions and customer service at our pools.
  • Handle program and rental questions, requests and inquiries via phone, email and in‑person regarding aquatic services.
  • Assist aquatic management with multiple administrative and financial functions such as cash handling, updating budget spreadsheets and tracking and purchasing inventory for both pools.
  • Maintain and update the department’s point‑of‑sale system, submit daily deposits to the Treasury department, manage user accounts and reservations.
  • Provide administrative support to the Augustus Brown Pool and the Dimond Park Aquatic Center and assist with front desk staff training.
  • Multitask in a fast‑paced office environment, meet deadlines, and keep accurate records on a weekly and monthly basis.
Qualifications
  • High School graduation or equivalent.
  • Six (6) months clerical experience, equivalent to an Office Assistant with the City & Borough of Juneau or elsewhere.
  • Post‑secondary or vocational training may be substituted for required experience on the basis of three (3) semester or four (4) quarter hours of post‑secondary education equal to one month of experience; 150 hours of vocational education equal to one month of experience.
  • Valid driver’s license at time of appointment and for continued employment.
  • Strong organizational skills, customer service skills, detail oriented, positive/outgoing attitude, excellent verbal and written communication, and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Word and Excel.
