What You Will Be DoingWorking as part of the fast‑paced DMV Public Service team, you will examine documentation presented in order to issue multiple types of identification documents as well as titles and registrations. This position requires thorough attention to detail and problem‑solving skills, reviewing and explaining driving privileges and regulations. The MVCSR1 will interact directly with the public, often explaining policies, statutes and regulations.

The Working Environment You Can ExpectThe position is located in the main office at the University Center, 4001 Ingra St. Ste. 101, Anchorage, AK 99503. You will be assigned to a workstation in the public‑service lobby. Hours are 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, with a one‑hour lunch and possible overtime. The MVCSR1 may rotate occasionally between Eagle River and Anchorage based on business needs.
WhoWe Are Looking For
- Customer Service: Work with clients and customers to assess needs, provide information, resolve problems, and satisfy expectations.
- Computer
Skills:
Use computers, software applications, databases, and automated systems. - Adaptability: Adjust planned work by gathering information and applying critical thinking to address multiple demands.
- Arithmetic: Perform calculations accurately using whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.
- Problem Solving: Identify problems, evaluate alternatives, and make recommendations using sound judgment.
Six months of employment experience that included cash handling and direct interaction with clients, such as sales cashier, bank teller, food service wait staff, or cashier
OR
Six months of office clerical employment providing information to clients on services, procedures, and requirements, including data entry or retrieval using computer systems
SubstitutionPostsecondary education from an accredited college may substitute for the required experience. (Three semester hours or four quarter hours equal one month.)
