We offer locals and visitors an opportunity to experience breathtaking Alaska scenery, explore the miles of trails atop Mount Roberts, and learn more about Alaska Native culture.
SummaryResponsible for providing tour and local visitor information and assistance and overseeing efforts to prevent the public from becoming nonpaying riders. There are full‑time and part‑time roles available.
Location and RelocationThis job is based in beautiful Juneau, Alaska. Applicants must either live in Juneau or be willing to relocate at their own expense.
Pay and BenefitsSeasonal Employees are eligible for the Seasonal Employee Layoff Bonus Plan. Goldbelt, Inc. may grant discretionary performance bonuses in certain limited circumstances.
Starting Rate: $15.00 - DOE
Responsibilities- Ensure that each customer receives prompt and courteous service.
- Provide superior customer service to people-oriented environments.
- Display a positive attitude and speak highly of the company.
- Maintain an excellent customer service level to all incoming and outgoing cruise ships, special groups, or local passengers; meet and greet tramway guests and provide tram and visitor information; give directions to viewing areas, gift shops, restaurant, and other locations.
- At the lower terminal, provide highest level of customer service to all guests, explain products or services available for purchase, collect and count vouchers, verify purchased tickets before guests enter tramway cabins, and manage ticket scanning and wrist stamping.
- Read and accurately exchange cruise ship vouchers for correct tram tickets or other tours.
- Function under pressure during peak visitor hours and greet each guest as if they were your first guest of the day.
- Apply effective practices of providing excellent customer service and seek advice from Lead Host or Lead Ticket Agent to improve skills.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
- Ability to meet time and attendance requirements.
- Ability to work all shifts including holidays and weekends.
- Attend scheduled meetings, orientations, and training sessions.
- Excellent communication, customer service skills.
- Learn, understand, and follow oral and written instructions.
- Establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with other employees.
- Work directly with the public, providing information and assistance daily.
- Learn and share local history, people, culture, geography, and other areas of interest to guests.
- Hiring for attitude; will train for skills.
- Pass background checks.
- Current CPR certification and First Aid training or willingness to obtain within 30 days.
- Previous experience in visitor or hospitality industry or related customer service field.
- Possibility of drug testing.
