Universal Teller I - Valley Centre Branch
Universal Teller I is a customer service position responsible for processing customer transactions and promoting bank products. Salary starts at $20.25/hour minimum, plus 10% area differential.
Schedule:
Monday‑Friday 8:35 am‑5:35 pm.
Deliver consistent and exceptional customer service by processing transactions promptly and efficiently while adhering to cash limits, bank policies, and regulations. Actively learn about bank products, promote them when appropriate, maintain a balanced cash drawer, and foster strong customer relationships.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Provide consistent, high‑level customer service that enhances branch experience.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of consumer products and digital platforms, and identify cross‑sell opportunities.
- Explain account‑related questions and refer to FNBA specialists when needed.
- Accept and accurately process all financial transactions, including mail, night depository, and account closure requests.
- Maintain and balance cash and coin supply; replenish and balance cash recyclers and ATM.
- Process lines of credit advances, customer cash shipments and wire transfer requests.
- Scan and balance proof work during the day and follow the Branch Capture Schedule.
- Abide by FNBA policies, regulations, and compliance training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Stay up to date on laws and regulations and complete all compliance training on time.
- Be knowledgeable of and comply with bank policies, procedures, and regulations applicable to the role.
- Maintain customer confidence by safeguarding confidential information.
Education and Experience
Minimum: 6 months teller experience or 1 year customer service and 6 months cash handling experience. Preferred: FNBA experience.

– Knowledge of personal computer operation, 35 wpm keyboard speed, 10‑key calculator, strong communication and interpersonal skills, discretion, good judgment, integrity, and confidentiality.
Language Skills – Ability to read, interpret, and write routine reports and correspondence. Speak effectively with customers and employees.
Mathematical Skills – Ability to calculate figures, discounts, interest, percentages, and apply basic algebra.
Reasoning Skills – Ability to solve practical problems, deal with variable situations, and interpret instructions.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSRequires sitting, frequent use of hands and arms, occasional standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and lifting up to 25 lb (occasionally 50 lb). Includes visual requirements and ability to adjust focus.
WORKING CONDITIONSModerate noise level. Environment characteristics typical of a branch office.
