** Key Essential Functions and Accountabilities of the Job
*** Administer general and local anesthetics. Administer anesthetics or sedatives to control pain.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals and especially with Resident Program Director to plan or provide treatment.
* Evaluate the position of the wisdom teeth to determine whether problems exist currently or might occur in the future.
* Analyze patient data to determine patient needs or treatment goals.
* Perform surgery to prepare the mouth for dental implants, and to aid in the regeneration of deficient bone and gum tissues.
* Remove impacted, damaged, and non-restorable teeth.
* Treat infections of the oral cavity, salivary glands, jaws, and neck.
* Treat acute illnesses, infections, or injuries.
* Remove tumors and other abnormal growths of the oral and facial regions, using surgical instruments.
** Education,*
* ** Certifications, and Licenses Required
*** DDS or DMD degree from an accredited University.
* Active License in the State of Alaska or another US State. Alaska license preferred.
* Board Certified OMFS.
* BLS, ACSL, PALS required
** Experience Required
*** 5 years’ working experience is preferred.
** Knowledge of
*** Working knowledge of proper infection control techniques.
* Understanding of the principles of dental disease and appropriate treatment therapies.
** Skills in
*** Oral and written communication skills
* Hand dexterity skills
* Diagnostic and skills
** Ability to
*** Ability to make accurate clinical judgment.
* Physically able to sit over patient for hours at a time.
* Ability to teach others in a classroom and clinical environment.
