The Sitka School District is accepting applications for a Metals and Power Mechanics Instructor at Sitka High School. Career and Technical Education (CTE) Teachers provide standards‑aligned, hands‑on instruction that prepares students for postsecondary education, industry certifications, and entry into the workforce, while building partnerships with local employers and community organizations.
A valid Alaska teaching certificate with an appropriate CTE endorsement is required; candidates who qualify for or are eligible to obtain an Alaska Type M (Special Services) certificate in an approved CTE content area will also be considered.
The Sitka School District is located in the friendly and beautiful city of Sitka, Alaska. With a population of around 8,000, the town is situated in the heart of the Tongass National Forest on the Gulf of Alaska. There is world‑class fishing, hunting, hiking, camping and numerous other outdoor activities that are easily accessible. There are five Schools:
Baranof Elementary School (PK‑1), Keet Gooshi Heen Elementary School (2‑5), Blatchley Middle School (6‑8), Sitka High School (9‑12) and Pacific High School (9‑12 alternative) with an average of 1050 students.
