The successful candidate for this position will work closely and collaborate with Principal, Literacy Coach, Instructional Support Team and colleagues on matters such as instructional strategies, ongoing assessment, curriculum and data analysis. The position works to build strong relationships with families and staff necessary to meet the social, emotional and instructional needs of each student. The candidate will possess experience with primary differentiated instructional strategies in reading, writing and mathematics and have a strong knowledge of early childhood best practices.

Extensive experience with reading instruction, including guided reading and direct instruction, and knowledge of ongoing assessment and progress monitoring of students is essential. The role involves learning and implementing new instructional techniques and is a great opportunity for lifelong learners.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.
• Valid Alaska teaching certificate, or ability to obtain upon hire.

• Attendance at Literacy Institute and/or further training in the teaching of reading.
• Successful elementary teaching experience.
