Overview
The University of Alaska Southeast, School of Arts & Sciences is accepting applications for adjunct faculty members for the academic year . This is an opportunity for individuals seeking professional teaching experience who have a passion for educating others in a specific subject. Adjunct positions are filled on a temporary basis.
Required Skills- Knowledge of accepted instruction methods.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Public speaking skills.
- Customer service skills.
- Providing high‑quality instruction through suitable academic preparation.
- Familiarity with computers and other technologies for instruction, such as Blackboard.
Previous teaching experience is preferred.
Minimum QualificationsBachelor's or Master’s degree in a field related to the position, or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Two (2) years of relevant experience in the field or courses to be taught.
Position DetailsPart‑time, adjunct faculty position. Minimum salaries are set by the United Academic – Adjunct, AAUP‑AT/AFL‑CIO collective bargaining agreement. Salaries may vary based on education and experience. This position is at‑will, union‑represented adjunct position, and may be canceled based upon the needs of the university. The successful applicant is required to complete a background check. Any offer of employment is contingent on the background check.
