Enrichment Officer – Overview
Please note that this post is funded for the 2026/27 academic year onwards, so the successful candidate would not be expected to commence prior to August 2026.
Student Services supports students at each stage of their journey from pre‑entry to post exit. The department has a student‑oriented culture and puts students’ needs at the heart of everything it does.
ResponsibilitiesYou will lead on developing, delivering, planning, and coordinating a range of enrichment activities with high levels of engagement, supporting students to build resilience, stay safe and develop employability, personal and social skills, and proactively build positive relationships with students. You will also effectively challenge behaviour and signpost students to support services.

Qualifications must be Level 3 or above in an appropriate area (Youth & Community, Education, Psychology, Sociology, Health & Social Care or IAG) and you should have experience working with young people aged 16‑19 from a variety of backgrounds.
Experience is required in planning, coordinating and delivering activities for young people in an educational setting or similar, and the ability to engage with high numbers of young people.
You should be able to use initiative, organise and prioritise tasks, have a working knowledge of barriers to participation, and understand how to increase participation within an educational environment.
Knowledge of relevant external organisations that can be engaged to support and develop enrichment opportunities is also desirable.
LocationThe role is based predominantly at Carshalton College but may also require working from Merton College.
