Montessori Borealis Teaching Position

Part Time Position: (.25 FTE) Teaching Position:
Requires Alaska teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement (s). Motivate Juneau's youth and be a role model in our community!

Position Summary:

Spanish Teacher responsible for full implementation and teaching of a Montessori multi-grade level adolescent classroom. Will work cooperatively with school staff to implement a cohesive program. Responsible for implementing program description, diversity plan, program evaluation in line with school district policy, procedure, and school board direction. Will support Montessori education for parents, teaching staff and administration.

Minimum Requirements:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in education. Association Montessori Internationale (AMI) training and certification/diploma, 6-12 (grades 1-6). Valid Alaska teaching certificate with Spanish endorsement, or closely related field.

Preferred Requirements:
Master's degree in education preferred. Experience teaching at the middle school level. Experience teaching middle school Spanish. Experience teaching in an AMI Montessori environment and working with parents, parent boards, school boards, and administration. Experience in team or cooperative teaching.

Compensation:
Salary is dependent on experience and education. The Juneau School District offers a competitive salary and an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision and the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) plan.
