Position Summary

Works primarily with students who are in special education. Presents material and activities to improve skills in assigned areas, which may include reading, writing, math, computers and/or vocational education. Works individually or in small groups. Records grades and other measures of students' progress and behavior.

• Some prior experience working with school‑age children preferred.
• CPR, first aid and district-approved behavior management techniques may be required.
• Must have either an AA degree, or 48 semester hours, or be willing to take and pass Work Keys Exam.

This is a temporary hourly position, working less than 30 hours per week, from July 24 – August 7, 2026, with a starting salary of $26.37 per hour. Summer hourly work is entered into solely for the purposes of operation in an hourly position with JSD outside of the instructional school calendar. Summer employees who work more than 15 hours a week between the dates of May 26 – August 14, 2026 will provide services for a term of no more than 30 days within a classification.
