Location: Yaakoosge Daakahidi Alternative High School

Position Type: High School Teaching / High School Teacher (Full-time, 1.0 FTE)

Qualifications:

• Alaska teaching certificate with a secondary endorsement.
• Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Education preferred.
• Recent experience teaching high school preferred.
• Additional certification or Highly Qualified status in secondary core content preferred.

Responsibilities:

The role requires flexibility and the ability to work on a team of colleagues in multiple settings. Behavior management skills, ability to communicate with many individuals, and knowledge of and ability to implement strategies and assessments for diverse students is essential. The candidate must consistently implement team‑established structures in addition to school‑wide policies. Experience in a professional learning community, working with under‑performing students, team teaching, integrated content, project‑based instruction, authentic and performance‑based assessments, and integration of technology is preferred.

Compensation: Salary is dependent on experience and education. The School District offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, and the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) plan.
