LocationPhelps County - Rolla, MO
Position SummaryThis position will teach basic nutrition, food safety, and physical activity concepts to low-income Missourians, including youth and adults. The associate may also provide training for daycare providers, Head Start teachers, and present at conferences for low-income school districts, and co‑teach programs with a Regional Specialist as requested.
Essential Duties- Provide educational programs to youth and adults (at least 60% of the position).
- Utilize approved curricula.
- Select appropriate activities from the approved curriculum for specific audiences.
- Work closely with community agencies serving limited‑resource audiences to develop educational opportunities and implement policy, systems, and environmental (PSE) initiatives alongside regional Extension specialists.
- Serve on local school wellness committees, as needed.
- Submit reporting and evaluation in a timely fashion.
- Assist eligible individuals in completing SNAP applications.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Conduct all activities in accordance with the Civil Rights Acts, TitleIX, Rehabilitation, Americans with Disabilities Act, and local, state and regional affirmative action plans.
Monday through Friday, 8:00a.m.–5:00p.m. Ability to travel and to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends, is required.
Qualifications- Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 6months of experience.
- Preferred:
Associate degree or sixty (60) hours college credit with emphasis in Nutrition, Education, Human Development, Social Work, Consumer & Family Sciences, Public Health, or Communication at time of appointment. - Relevant work experience in the above fields may be substituted at a rate of one year experience = five college credits, up to a maximum of ten years (additional nine to ten college credits required).
Salary Range: $17.00–$18.00 per hour, commensurate with education and experience.
