Librarian 2 (Special Collections Librarian) – Juneau, AK.

This position is open to Alaskan Residents only.

As part of a small team, you will handle donor relations, physical and intellectual processing of collections, digitization projects, and special projects. You will focus on preserving Alaska’s published and unique cultural and historical resources and provide access to students, teachers, researchers, state employees, and the general public.

• Manage donor relations and acquisition of relevant materials.
• Perform physical and intellectual processing of special collections.
• Digitize archival material for preservation and access.
• Lead or participate in special projects related to Alaska’s history and culture.
• Provide reference services and research assistance.
• Collaborate with libraries, archives, and museums across Alaska.

• Master's degree in library or information science, media services, or a closely related field.
• At least two years of professional librarian experience (equivalent to Librarian 1 with the State of Alaska).
• Experience with special collections or archives preferred.
• Strong customer service, professionalism, and communication skills.

Master's degree from an accredited college in library or information science, media services, or a closely related field; AND two years of journey level professional librarian experience (service as Librarian 1 with the State of Alaska or equivalent with another employer).

• Three professional references, including a recent supervisor.
• Unofficial transcripts or academic record.
