Position Summary:

This position is a good opportunity for anyone who enjoys teaching middle school level Language Arts/Social Studies. The individual will promote the kind of instruction and learning environment that will enable each student to master the skills appropriate to age, grade level and individual capacity.

Minimum Requirements:

• Valid Alaska teaching certificate with an endorsement with appropriate endorsement
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in education.

Preferred Requirements:

• Master's degree in education preferred.
• Experience teaching at the middle school level.
• Experience or ability to work with instructional technology is highly desirable.
• Experience working with team teaching, integrated content and project-based assessment.
• Previous experience working on a team in a professional learning community.

Compensation:
Salary is dependent on experience and education. The Juneau School District offers a competitive salary. We also offer an excellent benefit package including medical, dental, vision, and the Teachers Retirement System (TRS) plan.

Located in Alaska's beautiful capital, the Juneau School District (JSD) serves roughly 4,000 students in PreK–12 across 14 schools.

• Six elementary schools, one middle school, and one standard high school.
