What you will be doing:
Under the general direction of the Regional Maintenance Manager, this position develops and administers the Region’s M&O related state and federal capital improvement programs, including deferred maintenance projects completed by contract and force account.

The working environment you can expect:This position is located in Juneau, Alaska. Employees work in varied locations, often remote, and must adapt to extreme weather conditions while maintaining and improving roads, bridges, airports, ports, and public facilities. Who we are looking for:- Project Management
:
Knowledge of the principles, methods, or tools for developing, scheduling, coordinating, and managing projects and resources, including monitoring and inspecting costs, work, and contractor performance. - Compliance
:
Knowledge of procedures for assessing, evaluating, and monitoring programs or projects for compliance with Federal laws, regulations, and guidance. - Civil Engineering
:
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, theories, and methods required to plan, design, construct, operate, and maintain facilities such as buildings, transportation systems, water and sanitary systems, and other public works systems. - General Engineering
:
Knowledge of the concepts, principles, and theories of engineering and their practical applications. - Mechanical
:
Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, benefits, repair, and maintenance. - Planning and Evaluating
:
Organizes work, sets priorities, determines resource requirements, sets short‑or long‑term goals and strategies, coordinates with other organizations, monitors progress, and evaluates outcomes. - Road Work and Pavement
:
Knowledge of materials, methods, and appropriate tools to construct, maintain, or repair road surfaces, including sidewalks, parking lots, runways, etc. - Transportation
:
Knowledge of principles and methods for moving people or goods by air, rail, sea, or road, including costs and limits.
Note:
Valid driver’s license is required.
