Manufacturing Systems Engineer (Level 1 / Level
2) – Palmdale, CA
Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems seeks an Associate Manufacturing Systems Engineer (Level1) or Manufacturing Systems Engineer (Level2) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Palmdale, CA.
Responsibilities- Develop requirements and perform technical planning for manufacturing system development and integration.
- Conduct verification and validation of manufacturing systems and evaluate cost (implementation, savings, and return on investment) and risk impacts.
- Follow projects through all manufacturing readiness level phases: concept development, design, fabrication/assembly/test at lab level, production environment demo, full production operations implementation, sustainment/maintenance, and continuous improvement.
- Lead technical proposal/SOW writing and estimating while ensuring systemic conversion of requirements to design, implementation, and production validations.
- Manage project cost and schedule through all phases and execute transition to production activities of the developed systems to program and functional manufacturing spaces.
- Basic Qualifications – Associate (Level1):
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) discipline with 0 or more years of experience in engineering, aviation, systems engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing/production.
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
- Basic Qualifications – Manufacturing (Level2):
- Bachelor’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 1 or more years of experience in engineering, aviation, systems engineering, aerospace, or manufacturing/production, or Master’s Degree in a STEM discipline with 0 years of experience in those fields.
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance and have the ability to obtain and maintain Special Program Access.
- Ability to travel up to 20%.
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Active Special Program Access.
- Experience in engineering product design and industrial design.
- Experience with AR/VR/XR.
